Pete, Friends and Family
Alice said: "I first met Pete in the late 50's, and about 1960 he sent to help out with music in organizing farm workers in Stockton, CA (this was when the AFL-CIO Organizing Committee was trying to do something there, before Cesar Chavez appeared on the scene) a song-writer mason friend of his, Ernie Marrs, with whom he had connected me just before I moved there. Ernie stayed with us a number of months, writing songs and generally helping. He brought with him from Beacon some photos he know I'd treasure (hey, EVERYONE who encounters Pete loves him!) of Pete and his family, taken by a truly excellent photographer who had been visiting there. I unfortunately don't know his name. If any use can be made of these photos it would be suitable to credit him; perhaps someone else who was around Pete in those days knows who it was. (I was on the West Coast, and knew only Pete and Ernie.)"
